An account on nocap.bible is optional, and it is one account everywhere: the same sign-in works on fresh.bible, on nocap.bible, and in the nocap.bible Android app on Google Play, published by Lightshift. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
You don't need an account to read
Every chapter is free to read without signing in, so this page is only for people who signed in with Google or with an email link.
How to request deletion
- Send the email from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. If you signed in with Google, that address is your Google account's email address.
- We reply to confirm we received it. If the request did not come from the address on the account, we will ask you to confirm from that address before we do anything.
- We delete the account and everything listed below within 30 days, and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- The account itself — your email address, your sign-in identity (Google or email link), and any active sessions.
- Reading progress and reading history.
- Bookmarks.
- Reading streaks.
- Reading-plan progress and journal entries.
- Reactions.
- Achievements.
- Interests.
- Questions you submitted through Ask.
- For that email address, the newsletter and reading-plan email subscription and its send history — deleting your account also unsubscribes you.
What is kept
- Data stored on your phone by the Android app — highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading history, plans and goals. The app does not upload this today, so it stays on the device until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Crash reports already sent to Sentry, our error-reporting provider. They carry a user id and device details, never your email address and never anything you wrote. They go when Sentry's retention period expires.
- Search terms, which are stored without any link to a person.
One account, everywhere
Deleting the account removes it from fresh.bible, nocap.bible and the apps together. There is no per-edition deletion. It cannot be undone. Signing in again later creates a new, empty account.
Delete some data without deleting the account
We do not offer this as a request today. While you are signed in you can remove bookmarks, reactions and reading-plan progress yourself, and you can sign out on any device.
