An eloquent Jewish teacher from Alexandria starts crushing it in Ephesus — but he only knew half the story until Priscilla and Aquila tutored him.
Apollos arrives in Ephesus already a powerhouse — eloquent, well-trained in the Scriptures, and fired up to talk about Jesus. The catch: he only knew John the Baptist's teaching, not the full gospel. Priscilla and Aquila quietly pull him aside and fill in the gaps. He then heads to Achaia where he absolutely demolishes Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah. Paul later names Apollos alongside himself as a key Corinth-builder (1 Corinthians 3:6). His background in Alexandria — the era's center of Jewish learning — gave him the scholarly chops; the gospel gave him the message.
