Haman was Xerxes' top advisor and expected everyone to bow down to him. When Mordecai refused, Haman didn't just go after Mordecai — he convinced the king to sign a decree to wipe out ALL Jews in the entire Persian Empire. He even built gallows to hang Mordecai personally. The audacity was astronomical. But Mordecai told Esther she was put in her position 'for such a time as this' and she had to step up.
