What Happened

Running from Esau, Jacob stopped for the night and fell asleep on a stone. He dreamed of a ladder reaching heaven with angels on it, and God stood at the top repeating the Abraham covenant — land, descendants, blessing. Jacob woke up shook and said 'God is in this place and I didn't even know.' He named it Bethel and made a vow. First time God spoke directly to Jacob and it hits different.
