Saul went looking for his dad's lost donkeys and came home as king of Israel — what a plot twist 👑
Saul was literally out searching for his father's missing donkeys when God told Samuel 'that's your guy.' Samuel anointed him privately, then held a public selection ceremony where Saul was picked by lot. Only problem? When it was time to reveal the new king, Saul was hiding behind the luggage. Tall king, short confidence. He eventually proved himself by saving Jabesh Gilead from the Ammonites.
