Fall of Samaria — End of Northern Kingdom

After a three-year siege begun by Shalmaneser V, Sargon II of Assyria finally conquered Samaria in 722 BCE and ended the Kingdom of Israel permanently. His own inscriptions brag about deporting 27,290 people and resettling the land with foreigners. This is one of the most archaeologically confirmed events in the Bible — Assyrian records, archaeological destruction layers, and the Bible all align perfectly.
