On the other side of the planet, the Olmecs were building Mesoamerica's first major civilization with those iconic giant stone heads
While the Mediterranean world was in chaos, the Olmec civilization was thriving in the tropical lowlands of southern Mexico around San Lorenzo. They carved colossal basalt heads (some weighing 50 tons), built ceremonial centers, and developed early forms of writing and calendar systems. They're considered the 'mother culture' of Mesoamerican civilizations. No cap, they were doing all this with zero contact with the rest of the world.
