The Minoans on Crete built a palace so massive people literally invented the myth of the Labyrinth to explain it.
Around 1700 BCE, the Minoans constructed the Palace of Knossos — a sprawling complex with over 1,300 rooms, indoor plumbing (yes, really), and frescoes that still go hard today. This civilization was running hot while most of Europe was still figuring out bronze. The palace was so confusing to later Greeks that they said a minotaur lived in it. Iconic behavior honestly.
