Rome built roads so good we still find them 2000 years later — the original highway infrastructure bill
By the time of Jesus' ministry, Rome's road network crisscrosses Judea and Galilee, connecting Jerusalem to Caesarea, Jericho, and beyond. Milestones with Latin inscriptions have been found throughout the region, and sections of Roman road are still visible today. These roads are why Jesus and the apostles can travel so efficiently — the Jericho Road from the Good Samaritan parable is a real Roman road that archaeologists have mapped. Rome built them for military control, but they accidentally created the infrastructure for the Gospel to spread.
