A Libyan general takes over Egypt and starts a whole new dynasty — talk about a power move
Sheshonq I (945-924 BCE), a Libyan military commander, seized the Egyptian throne and founded the 22nd Dynasty, ending the weak 21st Dynasty era. He's almost certainly the biblical 'Shishak' who later raided Jerusalem after Solomon's death. His victory relief at Karnak temple lists over 150 conquered cities and is one of the earliest extra-biblical references to Israel.
