A heavenly being associated with God's throne and presence — plural: cherubim

Definition

Powerful angelic beings who guard God's holiness. Cherubim guarded Eden after the fall (Genesis 3:24), topped the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25:18-20), and feature prominently in Ezekiel's vision of God's throne (Ezekiel 10).
