Sacred lots kept in the high priest's breastplate — used to determine God's will on yes/no questions

Definition

The Urim and Thummim were objects (possibly stones) placed in the high priest's breastplate and used to discern God's will (Exodus 28:30). Their exact nature is unknown. They were consulted for major decisions like going to war.
