Gabriel

One of two named angels in Scripture (along with Michael). He appeared to Daniel to explain visions, to Zechariah to announce John the Baptist's birth, and to Mary to announce Jesus' conception. When he shows up, it's a big deal. He literally told Mary 'do not be afraid' — which is how you know the assignment was significant.
