The Judean hill where Samson broke his bonds and killed a thousand Philistines with a donkey's jawbone
JudeaLehi (the name means "jawbone") was the hill in Judah where the men of Judah handed the bound Samson over to the Philistines. The Spirit of the Lord came on Samson; the ropes melted off his arms; and he picked up a fresh donkey's jawbone and struck down a thousand Philistine soldiers (Judges 15:9-17). After the slaughter, Samson named the place Ramath-lehi — "Jawbone Hill" — and then God split open a hollow place there from which water flowed when Samson cried out in thirst, naming the spring En-hakkore — "spring of the one who called."
