The mountain where Abraham nearly sacrificed Isaac — later the site of Solomon's Temple
JerusalemHistorically Verified
Traditionally identified with the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, where Herod's massive retaining walls still stand today.
Mount Moriah is the sacred mountain where Abraham demonstrated his faith by nearly sacrificing his son Isaac, only for God to provide a ram in his place (Genesis 22). Centuries later, King Solomon built the First Temple on this same site, making it the dwelling place of God's presence in Israel (2 Chronicles 3:1). It remains one of the most spiritually significant locations in all of Scripture, appearing across Genesis, Chronicles, and standing at the heart of Jerusalem's history.
