About This Place

A town in Manasseh, home to Gideon. The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon here while he threshed wheat in a winepress, hiding from Midianites (Judges 6:11). After his victory, Gideon made a golden ephod here that became a snare (Judges 8:27).
