7 days for when you can't see the light
Depression isn't a faith failure — it's a real human experience that even prophets and apostles went through. These 7 chapters meet you in the dark without pretending it's easy.
Start Reading — Day 1: Nothing Can Separate YouReady when you are.
When depression lies and tells you God left, Romans 8 shuts it down. Paul builds the case that absolutely nothing — not feelings, not circumstances, not the darkest night — can separate you from God's love.
Reflect
Depression whispers 'God forgot about you.' What does Romans 8:38-39 say back?
Paul says suffering produces endurance. Does that feel true right now, or does it feel impossible?
Paul admits he's crushed, confused, and knocked down. But he calls himself a clay jar carrying treasure. You don't have to be okay to carry something beautiful.
Jesus looks at exhausted, burned-out, barely-holding-it-together people and says 'come to me, all who are weary.' He doesn't say 'try harder.' He says 'rest here.'
Paul opens 2 Corinthians by calling God 'the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.' Not some comfort. ALL comfort. And He comforts you so you can comfort others.
Jesus shows up to His friend's funeral and cries. He already knew He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead — and He still wept. God isn't distant from your grief. He enters it.
Paul writes from prison — actual prison — about peace, contentment, and not being anxious. The secret? It's not positive thinking. It's prayer and the God who guards your mind.
Paul begged God three times to take away his suffering. God said no — then said something better: 'My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness.' Sometimes the darkness doesn't leave, but God's strength shows up in the middle of it.
