7 days to be honest about doubt
Doubt isn't the opposite of faith — it's often where faith gets real. These 7 chapters follow people who questioned God, wrestled with belief, and came out the other side changed.
Start Reading — Day 1: Touch the WoundsReady when you are.
Thomas refused to believe Jesus was alive until he could see and touch the scars. Jesus didn't reject him for doubting — He showed up and said 'put your hand here.' Doubt invited in is doubt addressed.
Reflect
Thomas needed proof. Is there something you need from God before you can believe?
Jesus said 'blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed.' Does that feel inspiring or frustrating?
Peter walked on water. Actually walked on it. Then he looked at the storm and started sinking. Jesus grabbed him and asked one question: 'why did you doubt?' Not a lecture — a question.
A desperate father brings his sick son to Jesus and says the most honest prayer in the Bible: 'I believe — help my unbelief.' Faith and doubt in the same sentence. Jesus honored it.
Hebrews 11 lists everyone who lived by faith — and half of them never saw what they were promised. Faith isn't certainty. It's stepping forward when you can't see the landing.
James says to ask God for wisdom — but then says the double-minded person shouldn't expect anything. Sounds harsh until you realize James isn't punishing doubt. He's inviting decisive trust.
Jesus says something so offensive that most of His followers leave. He turns to the Twelve and asks 'are you going to leave too?' Peter answers: 'where else would we go?' Sometimes faith is just having nowhere better to turn.
John the Baptist — the guy who baptized Jesus — sends messengers from prison asking 'are you really the Messiah, or should we expect someone else?' Even the greatest prophet doubted. Jesus responded with evidence, not anger.
