And honestly? This part reads like the biggest real estate drop in ancient history. Every tribe was about to get their name on the deed. No more wandering, no more borrowing — everybody eats.
The second lot came out for the tribe of . But here's the thing — Simeon didn't get their own standalone territory. Their was carved out of portion, right in the middle of it. Why? Because territory was way too big for just one tribe. So Simeon basically became Judah's roommate.
Their cities included , , Moladah, Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem, Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, , Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah — thirteen cities with all their surrounding villages. Plus Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan — four more cities with their villages, stretching all the way out to Baalath-beer in the .
Sometimes God's looks different than you'd expect. Simeon didn't get their own independent plot — they got exactly what they needed, nestled inside someone else's blessing. Not every W looks the same. 🤝
The third lot went to . Their territory started at Sarid and stretched westward through Mareal to Dabbesheth, then to the brook east of Jokneam. Going east from Sarid, it hit the boundary of Chisloth-tabor, continued to Daberath, then up to Japhia.
From there it pushed eastward toward -hepher and Eth-kazin, bent toward Rimmon at Neah, then turned north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtahel. Their cities included Kattath, Nahalal, , Idalah, and — twelve cities with their villages.

Fourth up was . Their territory sat in one of the most strategic valleys in all of — right around . Their cities included Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem, Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez.
The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah, and , running all the way to the — sixteen cities with their villages.
was sitting on some of the most fertile farmland in the entire region. The was elite agricultural territory — and it would become the site of some major events later in history. God wasn't just giving them land. He was giving them a front-row seat to history. 👑
The fifth lot went to Asher, and they scored big. Their territory ran up the Mediterranean coastline and included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph, Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. On the west it touched and Shihor-libnath.
Going east it hit Beth-dagon, touched territory at the Valley of Iphtahel, then continued north through Beth-emek and Neiel to Cabul, Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah — all the way up to the Great. The boundary then turned to , reached the fortified city of , turned to Hosah, and ended at the sea. Mahalab, Achzib, Ummah, , and Rehob rounded it out — twenty-two cities with their villages.
Asher's land was lowkey . Coastal territory, access to major trade cities like Sidon and Tyre, and natural resources for days. had Asher saying he would "dip his foot in oil" — and the territory matched the promise. ✨
The sixth lot was , and they got the northern highlands. Their boundary ran from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, through Adami-nekeb and Jabneel as far as Lakkum, ending at the Jordan. Then it turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and went to Hukkok, touching on the south and Asher on the west.
Their fortified cities were stacked: Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth, Adamah, , , Kedesh, Edrei, En-, Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and — nineteen cities with their villages.
Naphtali's territory included the area around the (Chinnereth). Centuries later, this region would become the epicenter of entire earthly ministry. God was planting seeds in the geography that wouldn't bloom for over a thousand years. That's long-game . 🔥
The seventh and final tribal lot went to . Their assigned territory included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh, Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, , Timnah, , Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, Jehud, Bene-berak, -rimmon, Me-jarkon, and Rakkon — with territory extending toward .
But here's where it gets real: Dan lost their territory. The people already living there pushed them out. So instead of giving up, the Danites went north, fought against Leshem, captured it, and settled there — renaming it Dan after their ancestor.
Sometimes the promise comes with a fight. Dan's original inheritance was taken from them, and they had to go claim something new. It wasn't the plan they drew up, but they didn't just sit there and take the L. They adapted and moved. Not every path to your inheritance is a straight line. 💪
After every single tribe had received their territory, turned around and gave an to himself. By command of the Lord, they gave him the city he asked for — Timnath-serah in the hill country of . He rebuilt it and settled in it.
The man who led the entire conquest, who stood at the front of every battle, who organized this whole distribution — he took his portion last. No cap, that's what real leadership looks like. He made sure everyone else was taken care of before he even thought about himself.
And with that, Joshua, the , and the heads of the tribes finished distributing the land by lot at , before the Lord, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. The land was divided. What God promised to generations ago was now deeds in hand. The was complete. 💯
