Korah tried to stage a coup against Moses and the ground literally opened up and swallowed him — God said 'I pick the leaders here.'
Korah, Dathan, and Abiram led 250 community leaders in a rebellion against Moses and Aaron's authority, claiming everyone was equally holy. Moses said fine, bring your incense censers tomorrow and we'll let God decide. The earth split open and swallowed Korah and his crew alive, then fire consumed the 250 rebels. The next day the people STILL complained, so God sent a plague. Aaron literally had to run into the crowd with incense to stop the dying.
Korah and his crew try to ratio Moses and Aaron, claiming everyone's equally qualified to lead. God responds by literally opening the ground to swallow the rebels — and when the congregation STILL doesn't get it, Aaron speedruns atonement by sprinting into an active plague to save them.
NumbersThe Staff That Chose Violence (Botanically)Israel won't stop grumbling about who's actually chosen by God, so God sets up the ultimate vibe check — twelve staffs, one night, and only one of them sprouts almonds. Aaron's rod said "receipts." The people finally get shook.
