The Parable of the Prodigal Son

The younger son demands his inheritance early (which is basically saying 'you're dead to me'), goes to a far country, and absolutely burns through everything on a wild lifestyle. He ends up so broke he's jealous of pig slop. He comes crawling home planning to beg for a servant job, but his father sees him from far off, RUNS to him, and throws the biggest party. The older brother is big mad about it. Jesus is really talking about how God's love works — it's lavish, it's unearned, and the religious people who think they deserve it more are lowkey the ones missing the point.
