What Happened

Angel comes to Joseph in Egypt with the update that Herod is dead and it's safe to return. But when Joseph hears that Herod's son Archelaus is running Judea, he's like 'nah, we're going to Galilee instead.' They settle in Nazareth, fulfilling the prophecy that Jesus would be called a Nazarene. God was directing every move like a chess grandmaster.
