Kassite Dynasty Takes Over Babylon

After Mursili I sacked Babylon and dipped, the Kassites — a mountain people from the Zagros region — moved in and established the longest-ruling dynasty in Babylonian history (~1595-1155 BCE). They kept Babylonian culture alive, maintained diplomatic relations with Egypt (we have the Amarna Letters to prove it), and were surprisingly chill rulers. Sometimes the best move is just showing up when everyone else leaves. They understood the assignment.
