Mycenaean Greece at Its Peak

The Mycenaeans dominated the Aegean with massive citadels at Mycenae, Tiryns, and Pylos. They used Linear B script (the earliest form of Greek), traded with Egypt and the Near East, and are the civilization behind Homer's legendary warriors. Their gold death masks and cyclopean walls hit different — these people were living large before the whole system collapsed.
