What Happened

Nadab and Abihu, two of Aaron's sons and newly ordained priests, offered 'unauthorized fire' before God that He never commanded. Fire came out from God's presence and they were instantly unalived. Aaron couldn't even mourn publicly. God made it crystal clear that approaching Him however you want wasn't going to fly. The holiness of God was not something to play with.
