Whether it actually happened or not, the story of Troy captures the chaos of the Late Bronze Age collapse perfectly
Homer's Iliad describes a coalition of Greek kings besieging Troy for ten years over Helen (supposedly). Archaeological evidence shows Troy VI/VIIa was destroyed around 1180 BCE, which lines up with the traditional dating. Even if the details are mythologized, SOMETHING went down at Troy during this period. It's the ancient world's most famous war story and it happened right when everything was falling apart.
