lightbulbMessiah in Hebrew, Christ in Greek — both mean 'God's chosen King'

The title 'Anointed One' is the literal meaning of both 'Messiah' (Hebrew) and 'Christ' (Greek). While many people in the OT were anointed for specific roles, this title with a capital A refers to the one God promised would come as the ultimate King, Priest, and Prophet. Daniel prophesied about Him (Daniel 9:25-26). Jesus fulfilled the role — anointed not with oil but with the Holy Spirit at His baptism.
The patriarchs themselves are called God's anointed ones — the psalmist applies this designation to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, marking them as divinely set-apart representatives long before any formal anointing ritual existed in Israel.
The Unbreakable CovenantPsalms 132:10-12Anointed One is the title used in the prayer of v. 10, asking God to honor His covenant by not turning away from the reigning king who stands in David's royal line.
