The principles and methods used to interpret Scripture. Includes questions like whether a passage is literal or figurative, how historical context affects meaning, what the original audience would have understood, and how the Old and New Testaments relate to each other. Good hermeneutics is the difference between reading the Bible well and proof-texting.
