A handwritten copy of Scripture — the physical form in which the Bible was transmitted before printing
We have over 5,800 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament alone, plus tens of thousands in other ancient languages. The earliest fragments date to within decades of the original writing. Textual criticism compares these manuscripts to reconstruct the original text — and the agreement is so high that no Christian doctrine depends on a disputed reading.
