Sustained, prayerful reflection on God's Word — the slow, deliberate turning-over of truth until it shapes you
Biblical meditation is not emptying the mind (Eastern style) but filling it. Joshua 1:8 commands meditating on the Law "day and night." Psalm 1:2 says the blessed person delights in God's Word and meditates on it. The Hebrew word implies muttering aloud — the kind of slow rumination that lets truth shape you over time.
