A village near Jerusalem from which Levites came for Nehemiahs dedication of the wall
BenjaminBeth-gilgal ("house of Gilgal") was a small village near Jerusalem named in Nehemiah's account of the great dedication ceremony for the rebuilt walls of Jerusalem: "The sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi; Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth" (Nehemiah 12:28-29). The Levitical singers came in from the surrounding Benjaminite hill country to participate in the dedication. The site is uncertain but may be linked to the more famous Gilgal in the Jordan Valley where Joshua first encamped.
