A Shephelah town in Judahs lowland inheritance named alongside Jarmuth and Adullam
ShephelahEnam ("two springs") was a Shephelah town in Judah's tribal inheritance, named in Joshua 15:34 in the catalog of the first lowland district: "Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam, Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah." The name is similar to Enaim of Genesis 38, the place where Judah encountered Tamar — some scholars consider them the same site or closely related springs. The exact location is uncertain but lay in the inner Shephelah northwest of Adullam, possibly identified with Khirbet Beit Anim.
