A Zuzim city in the Transjordan that Chedorlaomers eastern coalition smashed in their punitive sweep
BashanHam was a Zuzim city in the Transjordan that the four-king coalition under Chedorlaomer of Elam smashed in the second stage of their great campaign through the southern Levant: "And smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim" (Genesis 14:5). The Zuzim were one of the three pre-Israelite giant peoples — alongside the Rephaim and the Emim — who occupied the Transjordan highlands before the conquest. The site of Ham is uncertain but lay in the central Transjordan, possibly identified with a tell in the Madaba plateau region of modern Jordan.
