A Benjaminite village in the Assyrian invasion route immortalized in Isaiahs prophecy alongside Laishah and Gebim
BenjaminMadmenah appears once in Scripture in Isaiah's vivid prophetic vision of the Assyrian army's relentless advance toward Jerusalem: "Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee" (Isaiah 10:31). The prophecy traces the Assyrian invasion route village by village down the central Benjaminite ridge — from Aiath through Migron, Michmash, Geba, Ramah, Gibeah, Gallim, Laishah, Anathoth, Madmenah, and Gebim — until the Lord cuts down their advance at Nob in sight of Mount Zion. The town lay a few miles north of Jerusalem on the road from Anathoth to the holy city.
