"Breach of Uzzah" — where Uzzah was struck dead for touching the ark of God
Judean Hill CountryPerez-uzzah ("the breach of Uzzah") was the place near the threshing floor of Nacon where, during David's first attempt to bring the ark up to Jerusalem from Kiriath-jearim, the oxen stumbled and Uzzah reached out to steady the ark — "the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God struck him down there because of his error" (2 Samuel 6:7). David was both terrified and angry, named the place Perez-uzzah, and diverted the ark to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months while he sought the proper Levitical procedure (the ark was supposed to be carried on poles by the Levites, not loaded on a new cart).
