John's DM From Prison 💬

had been arrested by , and from his cell he was hearing about everything was doing. But it wasn't matching the script expected. He thought the would come in swinging — , , cleaning house. Instead, Jesus was healing people and eating dinner with . So John sent his to ask the question directly:

"Are you really the one we've been waiting for, or should we be looking for someone else?"

No shade — that's an honest question from a man suffering in prison wondering if he got it right. Jesus didn't get offended. He just pointed to the receipts:

Jesus said: But wisdom is proven right by what she produces."

Jesus said: Everything has been handed over to me by my Father. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son — and anyone the Son chooses to reveal Him to."

This is a remarkably important statement Jesus ever made about His identity. He's claiming exclusive, mutual knowledge with God the Father — the kind only the shares. And He's saying the path to knowing God doesn't run through credentials or . It runs through . The people who think they've got it all figured out are the ones most likely to miss it. ✨

The Greatest Invitation Ever Spoken 🫶

Rest & Burnout Depression

And then — after the doubt, the warnings, the judgment, the theology — closes with maybe an incredibly comforting word in the entire Bible:

Jesus said: "Come to me, all of you who are exhausted and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Jesus said: Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart — and you will find rest for your souls. My yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

(Quick context: A yoke was a wooden frame used to connect two animals for work. used "yoke" to describe their teaching and way of life. Jesus is saying: the way I'm asking you to live isn't crushing — it's freeing.)

After a chapter full of hard truths — doubt, cities under judgment, a generation that refuses to listen — Jesus ends with an open invitation. No prerequisites. No entrance exam. Just: come.
