What Happened

Joseph gets another angel dream, this time saying 'get up right now and take the family to Egypt because Herod wants Jesus dead.' Joseph doesn't hesitate — he gets up in the middle of the night and bounces. They stay in Egypt until Herod dies, fulfilling the prophecy 'out of Egypt I called my son.' The Son of God was a refugee before he could walk. Let that sink in.
