Jephthah makes a reckless vow to God before battle and his daughter walks out the door first — devastating.
Jephthah, an outcast son of a prostitute, gets called back by his people to lead them against the Ammonites. Before the fight, he vows to sacrifice whatever comes out of his house first if God gives him victory. God does. His only daughter comes out dancing. The text is intentionally ambiguous about what happens next, but either way it's the most tragic 'be careful what you promise God' moment in Scripture.
Jephthah gets kicked out by his own family, then they come crawling back when they need a warrior. He drops a history lesson on the Ammonites, wins the war, but makes a vow that costs him everything. This one hits different.
JudgesThe Password That Got 42,000 People Caught in 4KEphraim rolls up big mad that Jephthah didn't invite them to fight, so he handles it. Then the most unhinged pronunciation test in history goes down at the Jordan River. After that, three judges speed-run their terms.
