What Happened

Jeremiah warns Jerusalem that Babylon will win and they should surrender. The officials are so pressed about it they throw him into a cistern full of mud and leave him to die. An Ethiopian official named Ebed-Melech rescues him with ropes and rags. Jeremiah's whole life is basically getting punished for telling people what they don't want to hear.
