Sennacherib absolutely destroyed Lachish and was so proud he carved the entire siege on his palace walls — the ancient equivalent of posting your highlight reel.
During his 701 BCE campaign, Sennacherib besieged and conquered Lachish, Judah's second most important city. He was so hyped about this W that he commissioned massive stone relief panels for his palace at Nineveh showing the siege in brutal detail — battering rams, archers, defenders being impaled. These reliefs are now in the British Museum, and archaeological excavation at Lachish found the exact destruction layer matching Sennacherib's attack. Receipts on receipts.
