Joshua tells the sun to freeze and God actually extends the whole day so Israel can finish a battle — no cap.
Five kings team up against Gibeon for making peace with Israel, so Joshua rolls up to defend them. Mid-battle, he literally commands the sun and moon to stand still, and they do. God throws in a bonus hailstorm that takes out more enemies than the swords did. The same chapter (Joshua 10) then chronicles the southern campaign: Israel sweeps through Libnah, Lachish, Eglon, Hebron, and Debir — completing the takedown of the entire southern hill country in a single sustained push. There has never been a day like it before or since.
