From Genesis 3 onward, the curse is the consequence of sin — broken relationships, painful work, death itself. Galatians 3:13 says Jesus "became a curse for us" by hanging on the tree, absorbing the curse Israel had earned under the Law. The Bible's story arc moves from curse to blessing through the cross.
