Almon-diblathaim

Almon-diblathaim ("hiding place of the two fig cakes") was a station on Israel's wilderness itinerary in the final approach to the Promised Land, camped after Dibon-gad and before the mountains of Abarim near Nebo (Numbers 33:46-47). It lay in the territory of Moab east of the Dead Sea, in the same region where Israel would receive its final instructions before crossing the Jordan. The site is often connected with Khirbet Deleilat esh-Sherqiyeh in central Moab, though the identification is uncertain. The prophet Jeremiah later included Beth-diblathaim in his oracle against Moab (Jeremiah 48:22), and the Moabite Stone of King Mesha also mentions Beth-diblathen — likely the same locality under a related name.
