The Sharon Plain administrative center of one of Solomons twelve regional districts
SharonArubboth was the regional seat of one of King Solomon's twelve administrative districts that supplied the royal court with provisions for one month each year (1 Kings 4:7-10): "Ben-hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher." The district covered the Sharon Plain north of Joppa, including the city of Hepher and the coastal lowlands. Solomon's administrative reorganization redrew the older tribal boundaries into twelve roughly equal economic units — each centered on a regional governor responsible for a month of provisioning. The site of Arubboth is uncertain but lay somewhere in the northern Sharon coastal plain, possibly at Khirbet el-Hammam.
