A fertile plain on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee
GalileeA small, extremely fertile plain on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. The lake itself is sometimes called the 'Lake of Gennesaret' (Luke 5:1). After Jesus fed the five thousand and walked on water, He and the disciples landed at Gennesaret, where people recognized Him immediately and brought their sick to be healed (Mark 6:53-56).
