A fertile plain on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee
GalileeHistorically Verified
A 1st-century fishing boat was found near here in 1986. The ancient historian Josephus described this plain as unbelievably fertile.
A small, extremely fertile plain on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. The lake itself is sometimes called the 'Lake of Gennesaret' (Luke 5:1). After Jesus fed the five thousand and walked on water, He and the disciples landed at Gennesaret, where people recognized Him immediately and brought their sick to be healed (Mark 6:53-56).
