A boundary point on the southern frontier of Judahs inheritance between Kadesh-barnea and Addar
NegevHezron was a boundary point on the southern frontier of Judah's tribal inheritance, named in Joshua 15:3 in the description of the southern boundary line: "And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar." The town is also called Hazor in the same boundary list: "and Hezron, which is Hazor" (Josh 15:25). The site lay in the high Negev between Kadesh-barnea and the Wadi el-Arish, marking a corner of the divinely-prescribed southern frontier of the Promised Land.
