Rephidim

A wilderness camp in the Sinai desert where the Israelites stopped during their exodus from Egypt. Here Moses struck a rock to bring forth water for the thirsty people, and Israel fought its first battle against the Amalekites — winning only as long as Moses held up his hands, supported by Aaron and Hur. Rephidim appears in Exodus 17 as a place that tested both Israel's faith and their reliance on God's provision.
