A fortified Naphtali town on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee identified with later Kfar Hattin
GalileeZiddim appears once in Scripture in Joshua's catalog of Naphtali's nineteen fortified cities: "And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor" (Joshua 19:35-36). The town belonged to the cluster of fortified watch-posts on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, guarding the rich fishing villages and the strategic trade route along the lakeshore. Ziddim is commonly identified with Kfar Hattin near the Horns of Hattin — the same site where the Crusader army was annihilated by Saladin in 1187 CE, ending Latin Christian rule in the Holy Land.
